I recently transferred some film from my old 8mm camcorder to my laptop. This video was filmed onboard the offshore supply vessel “Oil Tracer” in the year 2000. We were sailing out of Dordrecht in Holland carrying pipes to the pipelayer “Allseas Solitaire”. Can’t remember why we were backloading them in the video!

Big waves breaking in Westport, WA. These swells created 10 foot faces up the coast. Tourists come from hundreds of miles to watch the waves break on the many granite jetties in the Westport area. Big surf is very dangerous so exercise caution when large waves are breaking. A large rip current can also exist when big waves are breaking repeatedly, again be careful as rip currents kill many people every year.

SOME OF THE BEST big waves RIDERS WERE @ TEAHUPOO ON THIS FIRST 2010 BIG SWELL. RAIMANA, MANOA, SHANE, IAN, POTO, CARLOS, COCO, SANCHO, TEIVA WERE ONE OF THEM.
THE FIRST BIG ONES CAME @ THE END OF THE MORNING. THEN TEAHUPOO GREW AND GREW UNTIL THE NIGHT. IT WAS FABULOUS, INSANE AND VERY DIFFICULT CAUSE SWELL WAS DAMNED SOUTH WEST. USUALY GOOD TOW SURFERS GO OUT BEHIND THE PHOTOGRAPHERS BOATS, BUT THIS TIME IT WAS NO END AND FUC DANGEROUS.
